We will improve Cornell Road between 102nd and 113th avenues for all travelers. We are adding a center turn lane, bike lanes and sidewalks. A center turn lane can reduce rear-end crashes that involve vehicles turning left. It also reduces the amount of stopping and idling for vehicles.
We are installing a buffered bike lane and an eight-foot wide sidewalk..
We are adding a traffic signal and dedicated left-turn lanes at 107th Avenue and Cornell Road. A dedicated left-turn lane will also be installed at Cedar Mill Elementary School.
We are coordinating with Clean Water Services to install a section of sanitary sewer. We will also install and upgrade waterline for the Tualatin Valley Water District. Street lighting and storm drainage are also being upgraded.
The Cornell Road project was selected for the Major Streets Transportation Improvement Program (MSTIP 3d) in 2012. The total estimated cost of this project is $13 million paid for through MSTIP and utility reimbursements.
